How You Can Contribute
HTBF offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities, depending on your skills, interests, and availability:
- Scholarship & Program Support: Assisting with student interactions, interviews, documentation, and follow-ups
- Mentoring & Guidance: Supporting students through academic, career, or life transitions
- Technology & Digital Support: Assisting with digital tools, accessibility solutions, and assistive technologies
- Community Outreach & Awareness: Promoting inclusion and spreading awareness about visual impairment
- Fundraising & Campaign Support: Helping sustain and grow HTBF’s programs
- Events & Workshops: Supporting the planning and coordination of trainings, celebrations, and learning events
Who Can Volunteer
Anyone who shares our commitment to inclusion and empowerment can volunteer with us—students, working professionals, retirees, and community members alike.
No specific qualifications are required. What matters most is your willingness to engage with empathy, responsibility, and respect.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers act as ambassadors of HTBF’s mission and values. Depending on the role, volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Mentoring students and offering academic or career guidance
- Supporting program implementation and coordination
- Assisting with outreach, advocacy, and communication
- Helping design and facilitate inclusive activities and training sessions
Volunteer Orientation & Support
All volunteers participate in a structured Orientation Program designed to help them understand HTBF’s work, the needs of the communities we serve, and their specific roles.
Ongoing guidance and support are provided to ensure that volunteers feel prepared, valued, and effective.
Time Commitment & Expenses
Volunteering with HTBF is flexible. You can choose to contribute:
- On a part-time basis
- On a full-time basis
- Occasionally, depending on your availability
There is no cost to volunteer with us. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering are reimbursed by the Foundation.
